Urban and Regional Planning Review

Urban and Regional Planning Review (URPR) is an interdisciplinary journal for urban and regional planning, established by three academic institutes in Japan (City Planning Institute of Japan, Japanese Institute of Landscape Architecture and Japanese Association for Planning and Public Management). It publishes peer-reviewed manuscripts and the first issue was published in 2014. Articles can be theoretical or contain empirical research outcomes, written in English, not only by academics but also by professional planners.
The URPR accepts manuscripts twice a year (early of June and December). Articles are available online at J-stage.

City Planning Review is the Japanese magazine for CPIJ members and is published bi-monthly. It is the most important magazine leading the discussion in the field of the urban planning in Japan. It features the latest issues related to urban planning or theories that are fundamental to urban planning. The articles are useful for academics in urban and regional planning, as well as for practicing planners, policy makers, students, and others interested in planning. The magazine is characterized by its interdisciplinary nature, with contributions not only from researchers, government officials, and private planners involved in urban planning, but also from people in related fields. Journal of the City Planning Institute of Japan has published original articles related to urban and regional planning.  It is published three 
times a year. The journal aims to contribute to urban planning and policy from theory to practice.

Reports of the City Planning Institute of Japan

都市計画報告集

Since 2003, Reports of the City Planning Institute of Japan has published research bulletins, research reports, and editorials of a novel or urgent nature. It contains designs, analyses, surveys, systems, projects, etc. related to urban planning. Submissions are accepted four times a year, at the end of February, May, August, and November.
